A house close to the coast sounds so much better than one in a posh city block. You can laze around on the beach. You can immerse yourself in the salty sea water. However, the great thing about this Central European Island is that it is a convenient place to reach from other parts of Europe. The international airport of Rijeka is actually located on the northern part of the island, and services mainland Croatia via a spectacular bridge, as well as by ferry. Moreover, it is quite close to other tourist spots along the Mediterranean. If you like, you could visit nearby Venice in Italy, or alternatively simply drive over to Vienna.
